This is drawn at the size the object really is, from the same file the laser cuts — what you see here is what you get handed back. It reads 2.2–3.9 cm; change the material and that number changes with it, in front of you.

The beam only ever burns the grain DARKER. There is no white to laser on and no filler to lay in, so a light mark on bamboo does not exist — pick a burn tone.
